I Hate CancerYes hate is a strong word but I mean it. I don’t have cancer, but I have seen the effects of cancer too vividly to be apathetic to its deadly and destructive nature. I hate it. I want zero of it in my body or the bodies of those I love – I know you would say the same.

I’ve seen it destroy the bodies of men, women, and perhaps most disturbingly, children – children with loads of energy and potential, with joy and personality, with years ahead of them and with loving moms and dads.

I hate cancer and God does too.

But that’s not all.

See the attitude we have toward cancer is a picture of the attitude God has toward our sin (our offenses against Him). He hates it. He sees the destructive and deadly effect better than any one of us. He sees it destroy men and women. He sees it destroy his children. And he wants none of it in his body or in the lives of those he loves.

He sees it. But do we? Do you?

Do we hate our sin to the degree we hate cancer? Or have we grown to twistedly enjoy the very thing that is slowly killing us.

Do we hate our sin to the degree we hate cancer? Or have we grown to twistedly enjoy the very thing that is slowly killing us.

God desires that sin would not only be in remission in your life but that its deadly effect would be forever gone. And…awesome news! He’s made a way for that to happen.

I don’t have a cure for cancer, but I do know a cure for sin and it would be my greatest privilege to share it with you.
