What are you looking for?We all come to social media looking for something. What is it for you? Perhaps connection? Maybe affirmation? Could be a good debate or observation of a not-so-good debate in the comments? Still others come for yet another entertaining video, for expression, for distraction, for answers, for hope… the list could go on and on.

But if we come to social media at the expense of time in God’s Word, we are inevitably seeking to fill the most important needs of our soul with cheap substitutes. This right here is your excuse to stop scrolling. The band Switchfoot said it well when they said, “If we’re adding to the noise, turn off this song.”  If this post is part of the problem, feel free to unsubscribe, unfollow, mute, etc. Whatever it takes. Get to God’s Word.

Not sure where to start? Psalm 119 is a perfect place. Here’s just a sampling.

Psalm 119:24 “Your testimonies are my delight; they are my counselors.”

Psalm 119:37 “Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways.”

Psalm 119:72 “The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces.

Psalm 119:97-104 “Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day.”
